What is the Student visa (formerly Tier 4) process for Nepali students?

What is the Graduate Route visa and how does it work?
The Graduate Route is a 2-year post-study work visa (3 years for PhD graduates) available to all graduates of UK universities. Key features: no employer sponsorship needed, no minimum salary requirement, work in any job at any level, and no restrictions on changing employers. Apply online while still in the UK. Cost: £822 visa fee + £1,035/year IHS. The Graduate Route is available only once and cannot be extended. Is the UK's 1-year Masters really worth it compared to a 2-year US Masters?
Yes, for most students. The UK 1-year Masters is intensive (12 months with no breaks) and covers equivalent content to a 1.5-2 year program elsewhere. It is recognized globally by employers, universities, and professional bodies. Financial advantage: total cost of UK Masters (£22,000-50,000) is typically 40-60% less than a US Masters ($60,000-130,000). Time advantage: you enter the workforce one year earlier. The Graduate Route then gives you 2 years of UK work experience. Consideration: if you want extensive research experience or assistantship funding, a US Masters may be better. For career-focused students who want to minimize cost and time, the UK Masters is hard to beat.
What are the financial requirements for a UK Student visa?
The UK government requires you to show: 1) Full first-year tuition (as stated on your CAS), plus 2) Living costs of £1,334/month for 9 months (£12,006) if studying in London, or £1,023/month for 9 months (£9,207) if studying outside London. The total must be in a bank account for at least 28 consecutive days before you apply. For a £20,000 Masters in London: you need £20,000 + £12,006 = £32,006 (approximately NPR 52 lakh). For a £15,000 Masters outside London: £15,000 + £9,207 = £24,207 (approximately NPR 40 lakh). Student loans from recognized financial institutions are accepted as evidence.
